The main house dates back to the 1700s and has been sustantially renovated and modernised to make it an eco-friendly and efficient house. The large kitchen - a handmade Arthur Bonnet kitchen with solid oak cupboards and granite worktops - enjoys all the mod cons and has a large area for informal dining. The kitchen leads into another spacious room with high ceilings, traditional open fireplace and wooden beams. This can be used as a formal dining room or day room (as currently seen). A spacious hall separates the day room from the formal sitting room with open fireplace, high ceilings and large windows. In addition, there is a study (previously used as a double bedroom), a utility room and separate toilet. The back hall leads upstairs via a hand-built oak staircase and wrought iron balustrades.
On a practical note, the windows are double glazed, central heating for winter is run by an ecological, geo-thermal system and the ceilings have been insulated. It naturally stays cool in the summer thanks to the thick, stone walls and wooden shutters. The those interested in the facts, the floor area is 400m2.
